As most of us horse lovers realize, horse ownership encompasses huge risk and expense, and because I want to be able to provide the best care possible for my equine friends, I have always insured my horses. For the last ten years or so, Ruth and Georgia of Jocobi Group have been my brokers for my horse insurance. Not only do they guide me every year through the renewal process and help me find the appropriate coverage with the best insurance company, but they have also helped me immensely when I had to put in a claim. When my beloved and talented Rubinstein mare, Rajah, needed colic surgery, I did not need to hesitate: I knew she was covered. Ruth and Georgia represented me and ensured that I was promptly reimbursed for my expenses. Unfortunately, Rajah had another big colic episode in the summer 2008 and we had to make the difficult decision to euthanize her. In this case the insurance coverage was not so clear-cut, and yet, with the help of Ruth and Georgia, as well as my veterinarian, Dr. Ross Rich, I was once again able to make a claim.
